Well- I have been trying to figure out why I am doing this. And why it is taking me SO long to pull the plug on something I know is the right decision for me and my business. I don’t know, maybe cause change is..scary? And the unknown is even scarier! SO, here it is. After this fall I will no longer be offering family sessions or senior sessions. I will do short mini sessions annually in the fall for families and seniors with limited spots available. Starting in 2017 I will be specializing in everything newlyweds and everything motherhood and newborns. YAY!
As a big THANK YOU to all of my family session clients and senior portrait clients I am offering a closing sale on my family and senior session prices. $100 off my session prices! The Fall family sessions are styled sessions that I have worked so hard to put together. They will be located at the BLESSING BARN venue here in Jackson! With various location options for our sessions and of course, the TEEPEE!! All the heart eyes for that thing!! $200 for a family session, digitals, and a free 11×14 print if you refer a friend and they book! I really want to not only take care of my awesome families, but also go out with a bang!
Here’s a few reasons why I am stepping down from family and senior portraits and running with Newlyweds and Newborns!
> “Be fearless in pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” The things that set my soul on fire? The students at Northside Assembly of God (Shout out to all my Haven peeps!), capturing once in a life time moments in peoples lives, and documenting and being a part of stories. I love family sessions and senior portraits. That will never change. But my heart beats for documenting the day two become one, or when a mother brings her child into the world, the kiss as husband and wife, and the moment you lock eyes with your little one for the first time. My heart beats for the MOMENTS.
>>An attempt to fill my days with the things that give me LIFE. An attempt to make time for what I care about most; my wedding couples, expectant mothers, my family, and our church family whom I love with all of my heart.
>>Giving all of my clients all of my best. Wow, how thankful I am for every.single.one of you. Putting your trust in me as your wedding photographer, family photographer, newborn photographer, etc is something that means the world to me. Something I have never taken lightly. My prayer for myself and my business when I started this thing was that when things start to become mediocre and not my absolute best that I make a change. I will say, my love for photography started to dull. As with any job, it became mundane at times. Even lifeless. And I realized, Im not pursuing my passion I am pursing a career. I knew the moment I started pursuing a passion it would change my business for the best. It would be the change I needed. We look at our jobs, our marriages, and just our lives differently when we make it a priority to be passionate about them. I am so excited about giving all of my focus and love in the two areas that make me the happiest! Newlyweds and newborns!
Change is GOOD. And while I will miss the families and seniors that I honestly owe the growth of my business to, I have to remember that change isn’t only good… It is necessary! Big leaps, steps of faith, and pursuing a passion (even if it means less money in the bank) is necessary to maintain a life that you’re excited about. So, here is Kelsey Hawkins Photography making a leap of faith that is not only scary to me, but necessary, and I pray that you do it too!
Tomorrow I will share the WHY behind “Newlyweds and Newborns” and what all that entails plus whats in store! I did a hospital session 6 months ago that changed the way I view motherhood and newborn photography. And honestly, photography in general! I have been overjoyed to start this new journey and I would love for you to come along side me! If you are engaged, expecting, or even adopting please get in touch with me so we can document your days!
